Why You Should Start Stamping with Close To My Heart

I am not very artistic.  That's right - I admit it.  But I want to be.  I love the idea of being crafty and artsy, but I can't draw or paint or sculpt.  That's where Close To My Heart comes in.

Between you and me, signing up to be a Close To My Heart consultant has done wonders for my creativity.  Close To My Heart puts so many ideas, tools, and kits at my fingertips.  If I want to make cards, boxes, scrapbook pages, or other art projects, I just buy a kit or look through the catalog for ideas.  I create so many beautiful projects now and I get compliments on them all the time.  You can too!  Start with some paper, ink, and stamps.  You will be on your way in no time!

Stamping is the best way to make a quick card or an intricate piece of artwork.  It's fun for beginning or advanced crafters and you can keep it simple or build on your techniques and abilities over time.  It doesn't get much simpler than this example using the Emojis stamp set.  And you just can't help but love these easy cards.
A quick stamp and a little bit of coloring-in with markers or colored pencils and voila!  You can even use a swish of watercolor paint as a background for a more stylized look such as in this example using the Nature's Wish stamp set and our watercolor paints.  You will feel so artistic!
Details always add that extra punch and get the oo's and ah's from your friends.  As your abilities advance, your coloring may get more intricate and you might end up with a piece like this one using the Hooked On You stamps.
We all know that coloring is relaxing and meditative!  You can create so many unique projects with one stamp by coloring it different ways.  You could even take multiple stamps and make coloring pages or books as gifts for friends.

If you don't like coloring, stamping is still an art-form all its own.  Use it to say the things you really want to say.  Finding The Words is an excellent stamp set for that.
Do you ever see a card in the store with a beautiful image but the words aren't what you want them to be?  Or maybe it's the other way around and the card says the most amazing things, but you don't care for the image.  You can make a card say anything you want with Alphabet Stamps in different fonts.  Add some dimension by cutting out images using Thin Cuts or Cricut Cartridges and you have something incredible on your hands!
You can even get really creative and stamp on surfaces other than paper!  Try cloth or wood.  Our current Seasonal Expressions catalog has a fantastic wood piece right on the cover using the Jack - Scrapbooking stamp set.  Decorating your home for seasons or events is so easy with stamping!
Stamping is a satisfying way to itch that artistic scratch.  I know you can do it!  I hope these examples have given you some good reasons to get started.  You can also contact me about hosting a Close To My Heart party (in person if you are local or on Facebook if you are not) and I can teach you some easy stamping techniques that you can use right away.
